Staple for saddle stitch binding
Staple is usually referred to as "wire flat nail", but not the pre-made staples, in the process of production process, use machine to cut a piece of nail from rolled metal line, then nail it to the paper, and bend the wire and fix on the other side of the paper. Text portion is not bound into book block in advance, but coupled with the cover of the book to be bound and cut. The face seal cover, bottom seal of the finished book bound by staple has the same size with that of pages of book block, and the bookbone is both narrow and cylindrical arc, and obviously exposes the wire, so text cannot be printed on it. The staple binding has a short cycle of binding, low cost, but poor fastness, and the wire is difficult to penetrate thicker sheet. Hence, books with more than 32 pages (64 faces) are not suitable for staple binding. In the binding process, the first sub-page note is placed at the forefront binding machine, the first post falls on the chain, other posts stacked on it by turns. The cover falls on it, followed by nail; then it is sent to the end of the binding machine to cut. Cut the three sides of repaired books, then convey to the binding machine end, then pack and deliver.
Since the finished books are thick, when cutting repair flip side (i.e. turned mouth), because both sides of the saddle are closed and press the flat trimming. The size looks the same after the outermost pages and the intermediate pages are trimmed, while, as the middle pages are crowded to stretch by the thickness of the half pages, they are cut off more, so when you measure the size, you will find that it is smaller than the cover.
